The Foreign Windows

Alone to your domain I came.
In reverent curiosity
Stripped bare to flesh

An offering, the fragility of me to you

But where?
Where are you?

I have sight but do not see
Under branch or thicket?
Not here nor there
Nor anywhere
And yet I feel

Your sight to me
The line of your gaze
A thousand enemies have not pierced the veil
But you?

To you the gates swing open
My city is yours
each marvel
each treasure
all to you

The old songs tell stories
Stories of your eyes
Endless terror to them it seems
But me?

Your sight like touch to me
Tender smooth, eager & intentioned
Innocence behind your alien inquiries?

Who are you? I should wonder
Why are you? I should struggle

Here in the arms of your eyes
I should run
I should hide
but I cannot, and I will not

I should desire to see you
Desire to smell and touch

I am supplicate
Aroused and alone
Naked and desiring
Locked in your phantom embrace

I am not maiden, I am not vestal
Sweet musk of sailors sweat
Sweet taste of wine soaked lips
Ravaged under hairy breast
Each one a seed to plant
Each one a pain to hide
No remorse
Only Pride
I am pleasure and they are prey

You?
I do not know what you are
A diamond? A shadow?

I should not mind
I do not mind
And I would not mind
All the days of my flesh
I could wander in wonder

Would I know you?
Would I see you?
Would I know if I did?

So many a question
So many a trifling
Callow and small
You know as I

Your absence speaks a fullness
Ecstasy in this
Infinitesimal
Mundane

All that is, is this
New to you
New to me
Precious with virginal anticipation

Come now, not as seen or known or understood
Come invisible and foreign
I will not try, I will not gaze

Lay it still in my hands
I shall take but shall not break
Let me hold it to my bosom
I shall give and you shall be

A holy rite to us
A holy rite to me

Now to me
Consummate the mystery forever more
Let us think no more.

Transcendence

Above, below, across, away and out
Here you sit
Watch, watch
Sit, sit and listen

Never step
Never speak

How long since you were bound and beaten?
How long in silence are you?

Eyes are suffering, if you could but gouge them from their sockets.
Free yourself from sight, but that is not your mercy.

Sit and watch, listen
Speak?
Never

Watch and suffer
Always watch
Always hear
Always and always desire

Desire
Desire is a demon
The thing which eats and naws
Are you or are you not?

Shhh! Silence!
Sit and watch

Is there an object behind your shadows plato, tormenter of souls?

Strive and be pulled taut

Shall you ever escape the chains they bound you in?

Silence!

Never!

Shh not yet
Sit and watch

A Wolf's paw is bloody
A paw remains
Remains where trap and teeth made the negotiation

watch and watch

See how she limps
Dragging and draining
A red line follows
She sits now
What stories these shadows tell

Sit and stare
Strain and ache
Love and ache

See how she snaps?
Even a hobbled predator may bite.

Watch

Yes watch, but see also
See and be
Always be

Take now your resolve
Go
Above, below, across, away and out
Always go

Fight and tear
Stretch taut
Break and snap
Drip and dribble

Make the negotiation
Pay the blood price
Leave the paw

Sit no more

Watch?

Rise and step
Limp or crawl
Touch and feel
Into blinding illumination

Catch now the shadows in the light beyond

Be as the bleeding she-wolf

Go now frail creature of death
Go now to touch and live to die again

Go and do
Go and be
Always go
